BOW'T AYITI

BOW'T-BRASIL is the 4th edition of BOW'T TRAIL.

Year of research and creation: 2016
World premiere: 2016, Souvenance (Haiti)

The strength and courage of the descendants of Jean-Jacques Dessalines and Toussaint Louverture, key figures in Haiti's independence, are inexhaustible. Even tired, the people remain on their feet. Kebyesou's percussion and Rhodnie's body attempt to embody this long-awaited new revolution.
“Union is strength”, Haiti's national motto, reflects the chemistry between musician Jean Mary ‘Kebyesou’ Louissaint and choreographer Rhodnie Désir. The final work, BOW'T-Ayiti, has the wind in its sails. However, before moving to the Centre culturel FOKAL, the arrival of devastating Hurricane Matthew forced the cancellation of the show scheduled to take place in the capital, Port-au-Prince.
