Aly Keita is a multidisciplinary artist originally from Guinea and now based in Montreal. He began his artistic journey at the age of 13 at the Centre d'art acrobatique Keita Fodeba in Conakry, where he trained in circus, dance and music. In 2016, he arrived in Canada as part of a cultural exchange between Inuit and Guinean acrobats, which led to the creation of the documentary “Circus Without Borders: The Story of Artcirq and Kalabante”. Over the years, he has continued his collaboration with Productions Kalabanté and worked with several companies, including Cavalia, Zab Maboungou/Compagnie Danse Nyata Nyata, MAPP_Montréal, RD Créations, Audrey Gaussiran and many others. His expertise also extends to teaching and cultural mediation. He is a circus arts mediator at Place des Arts and a teacher-facilitator at the École de cirque de Verdun. Since 2020, he has been creating and presenting his own works, notably “Djata: Conversations du Manden” and “Altération”. He is also the founder of the creation and production company Kira Arts.
