Collaborations

Abe Simon Mijnheer

After playing soccer and studying guitar in the Netherlands, Abe Simon Mijnheer moved to Montreal in 2012. There he discovered a deep passion for contemporary dance, which led him first to Concordia University, then, in 2016, to the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal. There, he completed the three-year professional training program, performing works by renowned choreographers such as Marie Chouinard, Alan Lake, Virginie Brunelle, Catherine Tardif, Ginette Laurin and Manuel Roque.

Since then, Abe has pursued an active career as a performer, collaborating with Sébastien Provencher, Teoma Naccarato, Aurélie Pédron, Lina Cruz, Frédérick Gravel and Le Carré des Lombes. In 2024, he also took part in Symphonie de Cœurs, a landmark project in his artistic career.

Curious and versatile, Abe likes to cross disciplines and integrate dance training with other physical and expressive practices such as yoga, soccer, running, singing and music.
